Annis named St. Joseph County EDC executive director  July 7
 
CENTREVILLE - Following the recommendation of the St. Joseph County Economic Development Corporation board of directors, the St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners named Cathy Annis to the position of executive director of the St. Joseph County EDC at their July 5 meeting. Annis had been acting director for six months, having assumed the responsibilities of former director Dave Allen.
"Cathy stepped into the position and hit the ground running," said Dave Mumby, St. Joseph County EDC board president. "We are very pleased with the job she has been doing the past six month and unanimously voted formalize her position as executive director."
"I am looking forward to playing a vital role in providing services to the businesses in the county," Annis said. "There are a number of positive things happening.  As a whole the various business advocacy groups are making strided toward better collaboration to maximize resoures.  We've gained ground on the US-131 improvement project and there and new manufaturing businesses coming to the county."
The St. Joseph County Econmic Development Corporation was formed in 1997.  In their eight years of operation, they have provided material assistance to companies resulting in the creation and retention of 923 direct and 2,021 indirect jobs, $141,830,000 in private investment, and $26,671,400 in grant and incentives from the State of Michigan and federal agencies.  For more information, visit www.sjcedc.com
