FLSA seminar scheduled for June 14
CENTREVILLE – Employers will have the opportunity to learn about the recent changes in the Fair Labor Standards Act at a seminar on June 14. Hosted by the Human Resource Council of St. Joseph County, the event will be held from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in the Business Development Center at Glen Oaks Community College.
“There have been changes in the definitions of exempt and non-exempt employees,” said Andrew Boyd, president of the HR Council and Human Resources Manager at Kadant Johnson, Inc. in Three Rivers. “This seminar will help employers find out if they are classifying their employees correctly and address other questions they may have.”
The seminar will be presented by Robert Buckley, Assistant Director of the U.S. Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division. Mr. Buckley speaks frequently on this and other wage and hour laws.
There will be a $5 per person fee and this includes a continental breakfast. Those interested in attending may call the Kadant Johnson Human Resources Department at (269) 273-3076, ext. 2229 or send an e-mail to humanresources@kadantjohnson.com.
