PROGRAMS

	Brownfield Redevelopment: Brownfields are abandoned, underdeveloped properties not being used or developed due to environmental contamination. A property located within a Brownfield Redevelopment Authority when developed can receive reimbursement for eligible environmental activities that a developer has paid for as well as a 10% single business tax credit for building demolition, renovation, machinery and equipment. Cleanup costs for industrial properties are lower than earlier established costs.

	Community Development Block Grants (CDBG): CDBG Grants are usually related to infrastructure projects and will require some type of local match from a governmental unit or the business. Eligible projects can be funded up to $10,000 per job created.

	Job Training Grants: Qualifying businesses meeting salary and job creation criteria can be awarded grants worth an average of $500 per existing employee and $1000 for each new employee. The grants are for customized training in a specific area of need.

	Industrial Development Revenue Bonds (IDRB): IDRBs can be used for loans up to $10 million in tax-exempt funds to support development of manufacturing facilities. Proceeds can only be used to acquire land, building and manufacturing equipment. Interest rates are normally based on 70% - 80% of the existing prime rate.

	Industrial Facility Tax (IFT): Also known as PA-198 tax abatements, IFTs are available to businesses for renovations, expansions or to build new plants. The abatements can reduce property taxes for up to 12 years.
