Cathy Annis Knapp

Cathy came on board as project manager for the St. Joseph County EDC in September 2004, became acting director of the organization in January, 2006 and executive director in July, 2006.  Prior to this, she worked in the media as a regular freelance contributor to the Sturgis Journal, Kalamazoo Gazette Hometown edition and Business Direct Weekly. She also honed her marketing and sales management skills over a 13-year period, working for Grumman Olson Industries, LTI Printing and Key Bank.

Cathy was raised in St. Joseph County and earned her Associates degree in commercial art and Bachelors degree in advertising from Ferris State University. After working for Key Bank in Ann Arbor, she accepted a position as Branch Sales Manager at the Sturgis Main Office and relocated back to this area in 1995.  She earned her certificate of completion for the Michigan Economic Developers Association 2005 Economic Development Course.

 

Cathy is a member of the Kalamazoo/St. Joseph County Workforce Development Board, St. Joseph County Manufacturers Council and Michigan Economic Development Advisory Council Board. Additionally, she is a member of the Three Rivers Rotary Club, the Michigan Economic Developers Association, and the International Economic Development Council.  She is also active in the Business Partnership program with Sturgis Public Schools.
