Ms. Cathy Knapp has been with the St. Joseph County EDC since 2004, beginning as a Project Manager and being appointed to Executive Director in 2006. She reports to a 20-member board and completed her Certified Economic Developer accreditation (CEcD) through the International Economic Development Council in 2010. Her primary responsibilities include directing the county business retention and expansion efforts, marketing and attraction projects and she also serves as Director of the County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority. Prior to the EDC, she worked in private industry over a 13-year period as a marketing manager for Grumman Olson Industries, a sales manager for LTI Printing and a small business lender at Key Bank. She has a BS degree in Advertising and Commercial Art from Ferris State University.

Cathy is a member of the Kalamazoo/St. Joseph County Workforce Development Board and Michigan Economic Development Advisory Council Board. Additionally, she is a member of the Three Rivers Rotary Club, the Michigan Economic Developers Association, and the International Economic Development Council. She has also been active with Sturgis Public Schools Business Partnership program, Sports Boosters and Orchestra Boosters.
