Since our formation in late 1997, the St. Joseph County EDC has been directly involved in projects that have attracted over $27 million in state and federal grants and incentives, over $230 million in private investment and $678,000 in job training dollars. Our efforts have helped create 1,322 jobs and another 3,384 jobs in other sectors of the economy. New payroll added exceeds $32 million with multipliers pushing this figure to nearly $42.5 million.
We are proud of these accomplishments, yet, this is merely a portion of the overall investment activity in our county. St. Joseph County features the communities of Sturgis (http://www.sturgismi.gov/) and Three Rivers (http://www.threeriversmi.org/), which have professional economic development staff working on projects that have created additional jobs and wealth in our county. The Villages of Constantine, Centreville, Burr Oak, Colon, White Pigeon and Mendon have also closed deals that have resulted in new jobs and investment.
